The National Intellectual Property Administration of China and the Japan Patent Office have jointly decided to extend the China-Japan PPH pilot project for five years from November 1, 2023 to October 31, 2028. The requirements and procedures for participating in this pilot project will continue to follow the China-Japan PPH Guidelines.

PPH is a fast-track patent examination channel between different countries or regions, which accelerates the patent examination process through work sharing among patent examination agencies. Since the launch of the first PPH pilot in November 2011, the National Intellectual Property Administration of China has established PPH cooperation with patent examination agencies in 31 countries or regions.
