China Media Group also took measures to protect Chengdu Universiade’s rights. On July 27, China Media Group issued a statement on Chengdu Universiade’s copyright protection. The statement pointed out that China Media Group has exclusive all-media rights and exclusive sub-licensing rights for Chengdu Universiade in mainland China and Hong Kong and Macao regions of China. Without the formal authorization of its general manager’s office, no organization or individual may use Chengdu Universiade’s audio-visual program content, radio and television signals or any related audio-visual materials in mainland China and Hong Kong and Macao regions of China.

As the administrative department of copyright enforcement and supervision in Chengdu, where Chengdu Universiade is held, Sichuan Provincial Copyright Bureau strictly protects Chengdu Universiade’s rights. The reporter learned from Sichuan Provincial Copyright Bureau that Sichuan Provincial Copyright Bureau has paid close attention to event rights supervision. As early as April 26 this year, Sichuan Provincial Copyright Bureau jointly issued a notice with Sichuan Provincial Public Security Department, Sichuan Provincial Culture and Tourism Department, and Sichuan Provincial Cyberspace Administration to carry out a special action on Chengdu Universiade’s rights protection, requiring copyright, public security, culture and tourism, cyberspace administration departments at all levels to include Chengdu Universiade’s rights protection work in the current key work, increase the protection of Chengdu Universiade’s mascot “Rongbao”, emblem and other image symbols, strengthen the copyright inspection of key websites (APPs), surrounding areas of competition venues and other key areas, production concentration areas and distribution centers of goods and other key markets, and crack down on various types of infringement and piracy activities involving Chengdu Universiade works. As of press time, Sichuan provincial administrative law enforcement departments have dispatched 6,500 inspections, inspected 3,500 business units, conducted more than 1,000 online inspections, and carried out more than 100 special supervision inspections.

At the same time, relevant departments have deepened event rights protection. Sichuan Provincial Copyright Bureau joined hands with Chengdu Municipal Copyright Bureau to do a good job in Chengdu Universiade’s rights registration, supervision, inspection and complaint acceptance work, making full use of Chengdu Digital Rights Comprehensive Service Platform to register rights for Chengdu Universiade works. Up to now, the number of rights registration for works related to Chengdu Universiade has reached 709. In addition, relevant departments have increased publicity on event rights protection. Sichuan Provincial Copyright Bureau made full use of its copyright media column to timely push and update rights protection knowledge and cases. At the same time, it organized a series of publicity activities such as “entering campuses, communities, parks and networks” for Chengdu Universiade’s rights protection to enhance public awareness of event rights protection and create a good atmosphere.
