The Trademark Office of the National Intellectual Property Administration recently issued the notice of invoking the 12th edition of Nice Classification 2023. According to the requirements of the World Intellectual Property Organization, the member countries of Nice Union will officially use the 12th edition of the International Classification of Goods and Services for Trademark Registration (Nice Classification) from January 1, 2023. For trademark registration applications with the application date on or after January 1, 2023, the new version of Nice Classification shall apply to the classification of goods and services, and the original version of Nice Classification shall apply to trademark registration applications before this application date. 

Notice on Enabling the Twelfth Edition 2023 Text of Nice Classification

For trademark registration applications with the application date on or after January 1, 2023, the new version of Nice Classification shall apply to the classification of goods and services, and the original version of Nice Classification shall apply to trademark registration applications before this application date. On the basis of Nice Classification, the trademark office of China has made corresponding adjustments to the Classification Table of Similar Goods and Services, and now the revised contents of Nice Classification and Classification Table of Similar Goods and Services are published together.
