Guangzhou Intellectual Property Protection Center Passed National Inspection

On June 16th, China (Guangzhou) Intellectual Property Protection Center (hereinafter referred to as "Guangzhou Center") passed the online inspection conducted by the experts of the National Intellectual Property Administration. Guangzhou Center will conduct rapid pre-examination for high-end equipment manufacturing and new materials industries in Guangzhou, and the related patent examination cycle will be greatly reduced. 

Guangzhou Protection Center will reportedly focus on 98 international patent classifications and 25 Locarno classifications in the fields of high-end equipment manufacturing and new materials industry, and provide the city's innovative subjects with rapid collaborative protection services of intellectual property rights linked by examination and confirmation of rights, rights protection assistance, arbitration and mediation, administrative law enforcement and judicial protection. 

The pre-trial highway is one of the characteristic businesses of Guangzhou Center. According to reports, through pre-examination, the examination period of invention patents can be reduced from 18-22 months to 3-6 months, as for, utility model patents, 7-8 months to 1-2 months, and as for design patents, 3-6 months to 5-7 working days. The waiting period for Guangzhou high-end equipment manufacturing and new materials industry enterprises to obtain patent rights will be greatly shortened, and the cost of patentees' rights protection will also be reduced.
