Recently, the Customs of Capital Airport, which belongs to Beijing Customs, seized 100 fabric stickers printed with "Olympic Five Rings" in express for export, which were confirmed as infringing goods by the Organizing Committee of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics. This is the first case of infringement on intellectual property rights of Olympic symbols by import and export goods seized by Beijing Customs this year.
It is understood that the sender of the above express has not been authorized by the International Olympic Committee or the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee. According to the Regulations on the Protection of Olympic Symbols and other relevant regulations, this batch of fabric patches infringes the exclusive rights of Olympic Symbols. On-site customs officers carried out key inspection on the express mail of the ticket, and finally found one hundred fabric patches with Olympic rings from the goods with a gross weight of 50 kg. These patches are rough in workmanship and poorly packaged, and the sender, who was suspected of infringement, could not provide the authorization certificate of the International Olympic Committee or other relevant organizations. Since the beginning of this year, Beijing Customs has seized more than 2,700 batches and more than 590,000 suspected infringing goods, and protected 165 intellectual property rights at home and abroad.
