According to WIPO data, in 2020, China had gained top ranking in numbers of patent, trademark and design applications, while Huawei also reached the first place in the list of "Top 10 PCT Applicants" of WIPO with 5,464 PCT patent applications. BOE Technology Group Co., Ltd. and OPPO Mobile Communications Co., Ltd. ranked seventh and eighth with 1892 PCT patent applications and 1801 PCT patent applications respectively.
