Recently, the CNIPA announced through the national patent agency information public platform the institutions that were punished for conducting patent agency business without authorization (illegal agency). According to statistics, a total of 56 agencies were involved in conducting patent agency business without authorization.

When choosing a Chinese domestic agency, foreign applicants as well as firms need to accurately recognize whether the chosen patent agency is a legitimate agency to avoid unnecessary troubles for the applicant's future procedures.
