Polycom Company Won Copyright Lawsuit for Computer Software against Xiaoyu Companies

After trials in Beijing Intellectual Property Court and Supreme People's Court, Polycom Company finally won in the dispute over infringement of computer software copyright against Beijing Xiaoyu Home Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Xiaoyu Home Company"), Beijing Xiaoyu Yilian Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Xiaoyu Yilian Company") and Beijing Danbo Brothers Computer Technology Co., Ltd. 

In its first-instance judgment, Beijing Intellectual Property Court found that some of the alleged infringement acts of Xiaoyu Home Company and Xiaoyu Yilian Company were established, and ordered Xiaoyu Home Company and Xiaoyu Yilian Company to stop infringing the copyright of Polycom Company and publish an apology statement on the homepages of their official website for ten consecutive days. At the same time, Xiaoyu Yilian Company shall compensate Polycom Company for economic losses and reasonable expenses totaling 950,000 yuan, of which Xiaoyu Home Company was jointly and severally liable with Xiaoyu Yilian Company for 650,000 yuan.

Xiaoyu Home Company and Xiaoyu Yilian Company refused to accept the first-instance judgment and appealed to the Supreme People's Court. During the trial of the Supreme People's Court, Xiaoyu Home Company and Xiaoyu Yilian Company filed a request to withdraw their appeal with the Supreme People's Court, which was approved by the Supreme People's Court after examination.
