PubScholar is a public academic platform jointly built by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Computer Network Information Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Science Press. It was officially opened to the public on November 15, 2023. The platform provides public academic services, offering rich academic resources for institutions, social groups and other relevant parties.
The first phase of PubScholar integrates and integrates the scientific achievements, scientific publications and academic exchanges of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The content includes journal papers, doctoral dissertations, pre-prints, patent documents, field reports, dynamic news, scientific data, books and monographs. Currently, there are about 1.7 billion scientific papers that can be searched through the platform. Liu Xinyi, director of the Document Information Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that they have classified these papers professionally and provided precise services. For example, scholars in the medical field can access medical papers in the medical field by browsing in the medical or health category and seeing different papers published by different institutions over time.
PubScholar provides a comprehensive integrated retrieval function for public academic resources, allowing users to access full-text resources through multiple channels. The platform integrates speech translation technology from Science Press and can actively send relevant high-value papers to users. The second phase construction of PubScholar will continue to enrich academic resources, improve service functions and enhance accuracy to make full use of academic resources. Liu Xinyi said that in their work of providing scientific literature services, they found a problem that as research institutions it is relatively easy to obtain scientific literature, but as researchers from universities and enterprises in society and industry it is still very difficult to read and obtain literature. Therefore they developed this public academic platform to provide public services.
