On December 28th, the National Intellectual Property Administration held a regular press conference, releasing the Report on Patent Investigation in China in 2022 and the Evaluation Report on Intellectual Property Development in China in 2022, and answered questions from reporters on relevant issues.
With the release of the 2022 China Patent Investigation Report, China's patent investigation evolves into a departmental statistical investigation system approved by the National Bureau of Statistics, which aims to investigate and analyze the creation, protection and application of patents in China, said Ge Shu, Director of the Strategic Planning Department of the National Intellectual Property Administration. The survey has been carried out continuously for 15 years, with the survey having been released at the regular press conference of the Bureau since 2021.
The "14th Five-Year Plan for the Protection and Application of Intellectual Property Rights" clearly stated that it is necessary to strengthen the statistical investigation of the transfer and transformation of intellectual property rights.
In 2022, focus will be put on patent transfer, transformation and protection effectiveness, and at the same time on carrying out investigation work while closely following new hot issues such as open license. The investigation covers 24 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in China, involving 18,000 patentees, and the questionnaire recovery rate reaches 82.1%.
