Huawei Technologies announced on December 9 the signing of global patent cross-licensing agreement with OPPO and Samsung. The agreement with OPPO had covered the standard essential patents such as 5G and all related products of both parties under a related package arrangements. 

OPPO will pay for Huawei's 5G technology license, according to the agreement, as a replenishment of its investment in wireless standards and terminal technology research in recent years, and Huawei has also obtained the OPPO patent license it needs. 

The data showed that Huawei and Samsung had reached a framework agreement on cross-licensing of standard essential patents worldwide back in 2019. The year 2022 had seen more global cross-licensing agreements between the two companies, covering the necessary patents of both standards, which is of great significance to the future development.
