In 2021, Beijing launched a special campaign for intellectual property protection with strict investigation on illegal use of the celebration logo of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party and infringement on trademarks of Universal Studios and Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics, as well as patent counterfeiting, and seized more than 30,000 registered trademark goods suspicious of counterfeit, of a total worth of nearly 100 million yuan. It also announced the top ten typical cases in the field of intellectual property rights in the city, and handled 696 cases involving intellectual property rights, with a total fine of 27.4984 million yuan. 

According to reports, Beijing launched a special action last year to "manage enterprise-related charges and reduce the burden on enterprises". According to the Notice on Launching the Special Action of "Managing Enterprise-related Charges and Reducing Enterprise Burden" in 2021 of the State Administration of Market Supervision, Beijing has carried out special rectification of illegal charges of enterprises in the fields of intermediary services, trade associations and chambers of commerce, commercial banks, transportation and logistics, water, electricity and heating, etc., actively promoting the effective transmission of dividends from the state and city to benefit enterprises, and effectively lowering the burdens of market players. A total of 1,646 charging units were inspected in the whole city, and nearly 120 million yuan was refunded and nearly 60 million yuan was confiscated. 

By the end of December 2021, the city's law enforcement forces had dispatched 176,703 inspectors, with 157,712 inspection subjects, 7,196 cases filed and 6,062 cases closed, imposed fines of more than 108 million yuan and retrieved economic losses of more than 20.05 million yuan for consumers.
